Limmy -- Brian Limond

Comic Limmy has been named as Scotland's second-most influential author in an on line poll. The creator and star of BBC hit Limmy's show, real name Brian Limond, finished behind Harry Potter writer Jk Rowling  in a twitter survey.   Limmy 41, who has 165,000 twitter followers -- beat the likes of Trainspotting's Irvin Welsh  and Rebus creator Ian Rankin thanks to the daft wee stories collection, published earlier this year. The Stats were  released ahead of book week Scotland, from Monday to Sunday, November 29. And Marc Lambert of the Scottish book Trust, said they showed a real mixture of artists. He said 'It shows the the real dynamism and diversity of our literary scene'. 'It's what book Week Scotland is all about  -- Encouraging people to discover and enjoy reading and writing' The Scottish Sun's own man Matt Bendoris made the top 50 thanks to his crime novels DM for Murder and Killing with confidence.
By Sam Whyte
Comedian Limmy is a more popular candidate  for the job Scotland manager than the current boss Gordon Strachan.  A poll of around  1,500 fans on Twitter following Scotland's loss in Slovakia, shows  that almost 10 times as many fans want Limmy to be their manager rather than Strachan. Bookie Paddy Power gave the funnyman, real name Brian Limond, odds of 250/1  to land the Hampden roll -- the same as First Minister Alex Salmond and actor Ewen McGregor. the nations world Cup qualifying hopes were dealt a blow when the Scot's went down  3 - 0 in Trnava. That followed a poor 1-1 draw against Lithuania at Hampden last weekend. The Twitter Poll, by football betting website Footy Accumulators, asked: "Who's more suited to the Scotland manager?" It took voters to "re-tweet" for Limmy. or "like" for Strachan, and 1,310 re-tweeted the tweet, while only 144 liked it. And Limmy appears ready to take the job on, as he re-tweeted the poll himself. Twitter users congratulated Limmy, and said they would look forward to his tenure as manager.  Daniel Yates posted a link to one of Limmy's videos and Wrote: "This should be enough to warrant the job alone."
